Michael W. Jacobs
Founder, Director, and Senior Consultant
Michael W. Jacobs is the Founder of Pyng Medical Corp. and a co-developer of the FAST1™ Intraosseous Infusion System. Michael has single-handedly raised all venture and investment capital for Pyng since its founding in 1992, and he built the teams and platforms from which the company has flourished. He has served in all aspects of the company’s development including Chairman, President, CEO, and CFO. Michael currently serves as a Director, Chair of the Finance Committee, Senior Advisor to the company and is a major shareholder.
Since the inception of Pyng Medical Corp, Michael has devoted his energies to the commercial success of the FAST1™ System. His initiatives have raised in excess of $5.5 million to support research, development, FDA approval, and commercialization of the FAST1™ System.
Under Michael’s leadership, the FAST1™ has been adopted by the key emergency medical supply distributors in America. He has been instrumental in facilitating both early and continued adoption of the FAST1TM into the US Military, and subsequent early adoption by the Canadian, British and German Military; he was also responsible for the commercial launch of the FAST1™ into Europe.
Kevin O’Neill, BSc (Hons) Physics, MSc Opto-Electronics
Chairman of the Board
Kevin O’Neill is an established business leader in the Canadian high technology sector, and has extensive experience successfully commercializing new technologies.
Kevin is the North American Sales Director for MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd (MDA), a global leader in providing advanced information solutions for business and government organizations worldwide. Under his leadership, the Company has achieved record annual sales growth and developed several new markets. Kevin has a broad depth of industry-related experience, having excelled in previous senior executive roles encompassing research, systems development and marketing.
He is also a member of prominent industry committees and organizations, including the Board of Directors, Geomatics for Informed Decisions (GEOIDE), a Canadian Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE). He is also Past-Chairman & Director of the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada (GIAC).
David Christie, BSc (Biology), MBA
President and Chief Executive Officer
David Christie is President and Chief Executive Officer of Pyng Medial Corporation, bringing considerable experience in commercializing medical devices. David has over 25 years of sales, marketing, operations, and general management experience in the medical device and high technology industries.
In his most recent role as Chief Executive Officer at InnerVision Medical Technologies Inc., he was instrumental in raising $2 million, assembling an international team of professionals, and leading the development of Flash Ultrasound™ technology. In his previous role as Chief Operations Officer at VSM MedTech Ltd, David was responsible for manufacturing, regulatory, quality assurance, and service of functional brain imaging systems and blood pressure monitors, contributing significantly to the growth of VSM from a company with no revenue and 12 employees to $15 million in revenue and 175 employees.
In prior roles as Executive Vice President and General Manager, David led the engineering and business development initiatives on ground-breaking blood pressure technologies and, prior to that as Vice President Sales and Marketing, successfully launched their proprietary blood pressure monitor (BpTRU™) and established international distribution. David was Vice President and Regional General Manager, BC and Alberta, for Medigas, Canada’s leading respiratory care company. David held increasingly senior management positions with American Hospital Supply, which was acquired by Baxter Corporation, the world’s largest supplier of medical-surgical supplies to hospitals.
David has his Masters in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Montana.
COL Dr. Alan Moloff
Director
COL (RET) Dr. Alan Moloff, D.O., MPH retired from the Army after 30 years of exemplary service. He has had numerous assignments in Special Forces including the 7th and 10th Special Forces Groups, commander of the Special Operations Medical Training program and Army Special Operations Command.
He was the commander of the 212th M.A.S.H., U.S. Army Aeromedical Center and the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute from July 2002 through January 2006. During this last assignment at DMRTI he was focused on joint medical readiness, combat casualty care and had DOD oversight of the medical aspects of Homeland Security training and education regarding CBRNE and complex disasters.
He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. He received his D.O. Degree in 1983 from the New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Later, he earned a MPH from Harvard University. He is Board Certified in Aerospace, Undersea and Disaster Medicine. He is the past president of the Special Operations Medical Association, Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association and American College of Preventive Medicine. He is a founding member of the new American Board of Disaster Medicine. He has faculty appointments at the Medical College of Georgia and is the Senior Medical Officer for the Global Center for Disaster Medicine and Humanitarian Assistance at the University of South Florida.
Dr Moloff currently serves as a speaker and consultant for disaster response, medicine, planning, training and education to private industry and government organizations.
Bob Di Silvio
Director
Bob Di Silvio is an executive leader, analyst, and strategist who has spent the last twenty-five years working with well-known medical device companies in key positions.
Bob is currently Chief Operating Officer, President and General Manager of Safe Life Corp, which develops, manufactures and markets Triosyn™, an antimicrobial agent used in a wide range of applications. As COO, Bob is responsible for pursuing and negotiating world-wide sales and distributorship contracts as well as facilitating the highest quality of product and customer service to ensure efficiency and maximum profit.
Previously, Bob served as Vice President for the Physio-Control division of Medtronic, the leading manufacturer of implantable biomedical devices. He had been responsible for various departments throughout his five-year tenure at Medtronic. Prior to that, Bob was Executive Vice President, The Americas, for Lumenis, Inc (formerly the Coherent Medical Group).
